Good Budget-Friendly Day Trips From Manila
The Philippines is truly a beautiful country, so it is not hard to find somewhere to go just to escape the stress of city life. Most people think of Palawan, Boracay or even Bahol when holidays are mentioned. But what about something a little closer to Manila… There are so many amazing locations to visit not far from Manila that are worth looking at. Below we have listed some good budget-friendly day trips from Manila that are fun and easy to do.
Who Doesn’t Love A Waterfall?
Just a few short hours from Manila are some really good waterfalls that everyone should see. The two falls I am focusing on here are in Luguna – namely Hulugan and Aliw Falls.
Hulugan Falls is the higher and more spectacular of both Falls but it is also the hardest one to get to. I have seen many people struggling to carry picnic gear over the trail which includes steep descents and rock climbing. Sure there is also the long winding track you can follow instead of the more direct one but still it is not easy when you are carrying extra gear. The trek-time is usually about an hour to an hour and a half (even longer if it is muddy). But once you get there and stand in-front of the Falls, all is forgiven. After a swim in to waters and a shower under the Falls, any ache and pain will leave you.
Aliw Falls may not be as spectacular as Hulugan but it still has beauty and charm. I found this Waterfall to be the most relaxing and calming when we were there. It is also a lot easier to get to making it great for a picnic. We were advised not to swim in the pool at the base of the Falls but you can swim in the water at the top of the Falls and be washed Standing under the falls so there is still plenty to do.
Day Trips From Manila
Next on our list of Budget-Friendly Day Trips From Manila is Minalungao Park in Nueva Ecija. This is definitely a great family day out. But I do advise you to get there early as it is very popular. The lime-stone formations make it an ideal location to the photographer.. Plenty of places to swim safely or find your location for some cliff jumping. Hire a bamboo raft and float the day away or explore the surrounding area. So much to do and so close to Manila
Sonya’s Garden, one of the classic Day Trips From Manila that caters for everyone. Why not escape the Manila heat and do something totally different in Tagaytay? For those of you who love beautiful views, fragrant flowers, peace, calm, charm and even a touch of romance, then you can’t go past Sonya’s Garden. Most people think Of Taal Lake and Volcano when you mention Tagaytay and totally miss out on this magically garden of Sonya’s.
Perfect for a cozy family weekend or a romantic couples retreat, Sonya’s kitchen is known for its freshly grown garden vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. Adorably quaint cottages, gardens and a panaderia (bakery) are all but a few things awaiting you. One of those good family day trips from Manila that you will remember for years.
