The Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is located on the southwest coast of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu. A 35km drive will get you there from Nadi International Airport, and both Nadi town and Denarau Island are less than 45-minutes away.
Despite its peaceful, secluded destination, there are plenty of things to do around the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay. Surf the famous waves of Cloudbreak or dive and snorkel at sites less than 10 minutes offshore—there are dive companies within 3km of the resort and tours can also be arranged at the front desk. Fishing excursions are also popular in the area and boats can take you on day trips to the outer islands. If you’re after an inland adventure, ride a zipline through the trees or discover the history of the area at the Momi Bay Battery Historical Park (less than 25-minutes away). Golf lovers can travel further south to play 18 holes on the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course or north to Denarau and the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club!
April 2017 – We stayed for a total of 4 nights in a Duplex Lagoon front Bure which I must say was every bit as good as the pictures. We had a fabulous stay at the new Marriott Momi Bay Resort! The setting was fabulous with the Fish Bar and the Pool being simply amazing.
The staff were friendly and the service was good. Check in was quick and as I was not member of the Marriott rewards program they advised me to join which now gives me access to the other resorts in the Marriott group.
Restaurants serve good food but the choices are far too less for such a big hotel but don’t let that turn you away. Also the resort has no robes when we were there. Apparently they are on order.
Breakfast at Goji Bar is wonderful so make sure you have brekkie included in your package. There are lots of options including traditional Fijian, noodle and dim sum bar, every type of bakery treat and bread type going including gluten free, fresh fruit, cereal, etc, as well as omelette you can order while it’s cooked for you and a fresh juice bar. Coffee pots are included but barista coffee from the cafe comes on top at Fiji$6 per coffee. Recommend the coffee though as pretty good.
The Fish Bar is amazing for dinner and sunset. We shared a few plates and two drinks each and it was Fiji$250. The infinity pool is sensational but no children allowed which is apparently pretty standard for this type of resort. The Fish bar and pool is the closest pool to our Bure but as there are no children allowed in the pool, we have to walk all the way across the resort for a swim. There is a great pool with a swim up bar and kids pool in the main area of the resort so good options for families. You can also swim at the beach and lagoon so plenty of options.
There are three main restaurants – fusion at Goji restaurant, casual dining at the Beach Bar (swim up or sit down in restaurant) and great seafood at the Fish Bar. There aren’t kids menus in the restaurants, rather everything on the menu is served in half size portions for half the price. Good for school aged kids with things like pasta, pizza and hamburgers but there wasn’t much else for younger kids. There are a lot of curries, steak, seafood etc which is great for adults but abit tricky for younger children.
The rooms are brand new. The bures look onto the beach or the resort and are a few hundred meters walk to the reception area. The friendly staff are happy to pick you up in the resort buggies and give you a lift. The walk is flat so easy enough if you don’t mind the stroll.
We will definitely be back later in the year for another stay.
