The Lost Horizon Beach Dive Resort is located in the heart of Alona Beach, Panglao Island. A perfect spot for easy access to the beach, restaurants, bars, island hopping, dive tours and shops. All pleasantly within walking distance of the resort. Lost Horizon has 32 rooms ranging from the basic standard room up to their Suites which include a private balcony overlooking the beach.
The resort’s restaurant and bar is located right on the beach front and serves both international and local dishes. Lost Horizon Resort has its own dive shop, swimming pool and wifi is available throughout the resort.
When we were there I love the cold air breeze in the morning just outside your room. Its very close to alona beach were you could just walk like 2 minutes to reach the water and swim. They also have a pool and a good restaurant.
The rooms were only average but the price was cheap and it is conveniently located so all-in-all it was value for money. Our room was on the first floor so the biggest issue of course was humidity, but that was to be expected. There is AC in the room and it was on high all the time we were there. here is also a TV, safe box and hot water. Most of our time was spent out of the room so just the basics were all we needed.
I must admit, I did find the food at the restaurant adequate but nothing special. There are quite a few other places you can go to eat in easy walking distance from the resort so this is not a big issue. I had the grilled fish on our first night and found it over cooked. When I brought this the the waiters attention I was advised this is how it is prepared. Well, we didn’t eat there again.
Another minor concern I had was that the fresh-water pool inside the facility was a lot smaller than expected. To add to this, there always seemed to be a dive team practicing in it. But these are only minor issue as we were busy most of the time anyway, and when we felt like a swim we went down to the beach.
Lost Horizon Beach Dive Resort
If you are looking for a nice, budget resort hotel this maybe for you.
Whats nice about the lost horizon is the fact that it is a beachfront hotel. Even if you haven’t booked for city tours or island hopping tour, there will be a lot of people offering you tour packs for a lot less.
Its a shame the hotel resort doesn’t include free breakfast in the room charge and the restaurant menu could be improved.
The bathroom was nice and clean, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
