Nurture Wellness Spa Village Tagaytay Philippines
Nurture Wellness Spa, also called The Nurture Wellness Village, is located in Tagaytay’s popular Amadeo area. The Spa offers a wide range of amenities, activities and perks to guarantee you have a good time.
Tagaytay is a very popular destinations in the Philippines, and there are many great reasons for this. Amazing views of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano can be seen from many places along Tagaytay Ridge. Being elevated the climate is much cooler making it a great place for escaping the big city heat.
There are malls, Attractions, Theme Parks and romantic restaurants to mention but a few. We had heard many good things about the Nurture Wellness Spa Village at Tagaytay so we decided to spend a few days there to check it out.
Previously known as a destination for honeymooners or detoxes, Nurture Wellness Village is now gaining a name as a great escape for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Conveniently located just two hours from Manila, this is the perfect nearby getaway for weekends!
Here is our impression and review of the Spa – The good and the bad…
Our Arrival At The Nurture Wellness Spa
The Spa is located a short drive from Lourdes Church and Ayala Mall: Far enough away for the seclusion and quiet you need but close enough for convenience. You are also close to Summit Ridge Promenade and Picnic Grove.
Upon arrival the Spa grounds and buildings look neat and well maintained. The staff warmly greeted us and were friendly but professional. Check-in was quick and simple and before we knew it we were in our room.
There are a few different styles of accommodations -.
- Ifugao Spa Suites – An air-conditioned hut with private garden and spa. Can accommodate three people.
- Superior Garden View Rooms – A relaxing room that houses up to three guests.
- Deluxe Forest View Rooms – As the name says, If you would love a tropical forest view, this is for you.
- Family Rooms – Perfect if you are bringing your kids.
- Glamping – Glamorous Camping – “Glamping”. Relax in tents with a few extra comforts and luxuries.
Our room was a Deluxe Forest View Room and as you see from the picture it was clean, neat and tidy. After the long 2 hour drive from Manila we were ready to relax so we quickly unpacked our things and stretched out on the bed. As soon as I sat on the bed I noticed it wasn’t the soft fluffy hotel bed I was expecting, it was hard as a rock. A firm bed is good for the back I’m told but I love my comfort… I must admit I did get a good night sleep in that bed and after adding a few pillows my comfort level increased (lol). Maybe I’m just too soft…
The next morning we did tell reception about the hard bed. A manager came to inspect the room and in no time we were moved to another room with a much softer bed. The staff and management truly do care about the welfare of their guests.
The bathroom was clean and functional… The taps works and nothing overflowed, Overall, we were very happy with the room apart from the bed being a little too firm but not unpleasant. For those concerned about the supplied soaps, shampoo and conditioner..
When we were there the toiletries were NOT 100% nature but the resort is now moving to a new line called Likha- which would be 100% natural.
For those on a budget, you might want to try “Glamping” – Glamorous Camping. Many people were doing it when we were there and they all were enjoying themselves. I took a picture of some vacant tents to give you an idea.
Food At Nurture Wellness Spa Village
The Village has it’s own farm (Take the farm tour, it’s great) so you can taste the freshness in the food. We had a package deal which included meals so the two options we had were Traditional or International. Depending on the dish, they all came with white rice and vegetables or french fries. Gary, not being Filipino would have liked more options other than rice seeing they grow their own vegetables.. And why not brown or black rice instead of just white? It is a wellness resort after all.
Now, don’t get me wrong, we both loved the food, it’s just the lack of options we didn’t like.
.The wine list – Both Gary and I like to relax with a nice glass of wine but we found the wine list was a little lacking and in need of update (Yes, I know… It’s a wellness resort and we shouldn’t be drinking wine…). A selection from two types really isn’t enough and white wine really needs to be chilled (some would even want the red chilled also). There is nothing worse than drinking warm wine in a warm climate. Also warm temperatures can ruin a good wine.
During our stay we tried the Kale-pineapple, Suman at Mangga and Kakaibang Lumpia and love them all. Oh, and I had the Osso Buco Caldereta one night (this is a must try) The salabat was also unforgettable. Maybe the fact that they grow their own vegetables and prepare their own juices helped to make all these dishes that much tastier.
The dining hall was lovely and a little romantic dining under the mood-setting capiz lamps. It is no secret that they cater wedding banquets quite often!
While there we booked for a couples massage. We arrived a little early and so had something to eat at the resto/cafe. We both had the suman at mangga and the house coffee… Very good!
The massage was amazing, one of the best massage experiences I have ever had. We enjoyed being pampered for a few hours and after a shower I was ready for a facial and a session of acupuncture. I felt sooo good at dinner that night.
I heard from a friend that this place is nice… she was wrong!
Nurture Wellness Spa Village is so much more than just nice… This is nature at its best. Breathe the fresh air, and let the masseuse melt all your stress and tension. The room is clean and well maintained and the staff were polite, friendly and well trained. We both had a great two days at the Spa and would recommend it to anyone. A great escape if you are in need of a recharge. Also a great mediation retreat.
