Samsung is expected to unveil a new Note phablet (Galaxy Note 8) later this year, and when it comes out, it’s going to be big. In fact, as the first Note model after the Note 7 battery fires, the Note 8 will be more important than any other Note ever made. But… it looks like the South Korean manufacturer may have accidentally revealed the upcoming device in a recent tweet… Oooops.
This is where it starts to get interesting….
Samsung, on its official Twitter account, tweeted a promotional pic of its latest Exynos 8895 chipset. This chipset is available on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. But, also in the picture alongside the chipset is a smartphone that is neither the Galaxy S8 or the S8+.
The device in the picture features Samsung’s trademark Infinity Display with even smaller bezels than the current models. Also, this agrees with earlier rumours suggesting a more square design and larger display compared to the S8, and can quite possibly be the upcoming phablet.
However, Samsung has not released an official statement in the matter and therefore the smartphone could quite possibly be a generic image that the company used to promote the chipset.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Release Date
Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Note 8 soon, with plans to have it in stores as early as August 23 to beat the iPhone 8 to market.
Earlier, Samsung launched its note series at IFA in September. But for the past couple releases Samsung has arranged standalone launch events. Now reports are claiming that Samsung again will arrange a standalone event for the launch of Galaxy Note 8.
