Picnic Grove Tagaytay, one of the great picnic locations near Taal Lake that has always been very popular. Is it as good as it used to be? Read on to see… For a great view, ride the new Ferris wheel that is at the entrance of the Grove. After we paid the entrance fee, we stopped to buy some Strawberry Taho from one of the vendors. It was then we noticed there was no queue on the Ferris wheel so we gave it a try. Nice ride with great views…
With so many great things to see and do just outside Manila, there is no excuse anymore to stay at home. See our list of great day trips from Manila
The white sandbar and the clear sea views of Malcapuya Island Coron are very relaxing. You will forget everything as you imagine yourself in paradise. Are you the type of person who loves the beach?
The sand up near the cottages and resting areas is a mixture of sand and stones. A few more steps then the sand becomes white and powdery soft. Then, once in the water, it becomes a mixture of pure soft sand with bits of stones. Compared to other white sand beaches we have visited, this one is quite large but the turquoise water against white sand is what really sets Malcapuya Island apart from the rest – It is literally like something from a postcard. Needless to say, there are many good snorkelling spots in the area.
The only downside of the island is some trash we saw on the beach. How can some local tourists do this? You come to a place to admire its beauty and yet you destroy it? I’m pretty sure they are local tourists because foreigners won’t eat that local junk food.
Had enough of the stresses of city life? Are you looking for an escape back to nature that is still in the heart of Metro Manila? You don’t need to go too far to blend with nature and have fun. Visit RAVE Pasig Rainforest Park this weekend! A perfect getaway to recharge your batteries… Well, that is what the promotions all tell us… But is the RAVE rainforest as good as they say it is?
During our last trip to Coron, we were able to visit Banana Island as part of an island hopping tour. Banana Island is part of a group of three islands south of Busuanga that made up our island-hopping tour from the town of Coron. It has more facilities for overnight stay. It also has huts and tables where we had our lunch for the day.
For those of you who have been to Bulog Dos Island, the water in front of the northern beach on Banana Island is just as clear but deeper than that of Bulog Dos. There’s a coral reef lying just off this beach for those who love to snorkel or dive.
There’s also a tree house, hammocks, and a store. You can go swimming and snorkel in the blue waters or just lie on the beach to have your perfect tan. You can also use the hammocks to relax or to have a quick nap.
We were there in November. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining and we could see for miles. Oh, and remember there is also another wonder of the world on the same island… The Tarsier..

Its cool climate, awesome restaurants, and awe-inspiring sights never fail to satisfy the need of every Filipino for leisure. Just more than an hour drive from Manila but not quite as crowded, Tagaytay is a perfect venue to recharge especially when the stress gets to you. Why don’t you plan your next Tagaytay staycation at one of these unique accommodations?
MOA Amusement Park, SM By The Bay – First of all, a day is never enough for this place. Add to this, the endless choices of dining, recreation, and entertainment outside the humongous mall. The best place to watch the sunset and cap the day of shopping. Ever since I can remember, SM has been the go-to mall for everyone. And this has not changed. SM Mall of Asia in Pasay being the 3rd biggest of all the SM Supermalls. But the humongous size of this mall isn’t the only thing that makes this mall unique.
Aliw Falls Laguna is another amazing waterfall we recently visited. Is it worth visiting? Read our review, see the video and get all the tips. Feel free to leave a comment and help us rate these Falls. For quite a while now, Laguna’s main claim to fame was Pagsanjan Falls (now called Cavinti Falls) and for the adrenaline-junkies, the shooting-the-rapids boat ride. But, in the last few years it seems more and more unknown waterfalls are being “discovered”.
So much to see – So little time. Don’t miss a thing with our list of amazing things to do in Coron Palawan. Coron island hopping tour – The good, the bad and the ugly of the Ultimate Tour… Coron is, indeed a paradise we all should experience at least once in our lives. From it’s turquoise waters to it’s towering limestone formations, white sand beaches, shipwrecks, and underwater gardens, Coron has something for everyone. We recently went on the “Coron Ultimate Tour – 7 Islands in One Day” so let’s find out if it was worth the money…
To be honest, we were disappointed with CYC Beach Coron. After all the good reviews we had read. Read our full CYC Beach Coron Palawan review and know what to expect before going. The beach sand of CYC Beach Coron is off-white – not as white as other beaches in Coron, but still soft and appealing. For all those divers out there, the waters surrounding the island are crystal clear and full of marine life. For those wondering, CYC Beach stands for “Coron Youth Club” Beach. Another interesting fact about CYC Beach is it’s the only beach where you are not charged an entrance fee (or so we were told, we have not been to every island in Coron to validate this claim). I will admit, CYC beach does have a nice view, decorated by rock formations, mangrove trees, and creamy-white sand making it ideal for stretching out under the sun and getting a tan.
