hinulugang taktak at Antipolo

Hinulugang Taktak Falls, Pool & Park Reviewed

After a quick visit to Jardin de Marimar, our next stop was to one of Antipolo’s top tourist destinations, the famous Hinulugang Taktak Waterfalls. Located in Brgy. Dela Paz Antipolo City lies the 12-meter-high waterfall of Hinulugang Taktak which gain its fame through the song “Tayo Na Sa Antipolo”.  When we finally arrived, we are welcome by the friendly smiles of the staff. Friendly? Hmm, maybe just eager to take money from a foreigner for an overpriced entrance fee. And, to make it worse, they weren’t shy to announce it…

Coron Island Hopping Tour | Ultimate Tour 7 Islands In One Day Review

Coron island hopping tour – The good, the bad and the ugly of the Ultimate Tour…

Coron is, indeed a paradise we all should experience at least once in our lives. From it’s turquoise waters to it’s towering limestone formations, white sand beaches, shipwrecks, and underwater gardens, Coron has something for everyone. We recently went on the “Coron Ultimate Tour – 7 Islands in One Day” so let’s find out if it was worth the money…

CYC Beach Coron Approach 2hottravellers

CYC Beach Coron Palawan Review – All You Need To Know

To be honest, we were disappointed with CYC Beach Coron. After all the good reviews we had read. Read our full CYC Beach Coron Palawan review and know what to expect before going. The beach sand of CYC Beach Coron is off-white – not as white as other beaches in Coron, but still soft and appealing. For all those divers out there, the waters surrounding the island are crystal clear and full of marine life. For those wondering, CYC Beach stands for “Coron Youth Club” Beach. Another interesting fact about CYC Beach is it’s the only beach where you are not charged an entrance fee (or so we were told, we have not been to every island in Coron to validate this claim). I will admit, CYC beach does have a nice view, decorated by rock formations, mangrove trees, and creamy-white sand making it ideal for stretching out under the sun and getting a tan.

Coron Island Hopping Tour Experience – 3 Island Tour

The sun, the sand, the waves, and the turquoise waters define a Coron island hopping tour. But, it doesn’t matter how beautiful the scenery if your tour is badly organized.

When you start collecting all the various brochures for Coron tours, you start to realize that most of the tours look very similar. For us, it came down to price and inclusions. Now, this seems like a reasonable way to decide which is the better trip to book but as we found out, you don’t always get all the inclusions listed on the brochure. And to make it worse, most people don’t take the brochure with them on the trip so they don’t realize what was missed.

2hottravellers arrivng at Bulog Dos island

Bulog Dos Island – Coron’s Sprawling Sandbar

Bulog Dos Island is one of our destinations on a recent island hopping tours we took from Coron. The day was bright, the sun was hot and the water was a cool deep turquoise. A great spot to stop and swim or just lay on the beach and let the waves wash over you.

The water around the island is good for swimming as there are no rocks or sea urchins to worry about, unlike other spots in Coron. Our tour guide and boat guys were very helpful, assisting the non-swimmers in our group in and out of the boat. A casual swim took us to the island. The island is quite small so there is not a lot to explore other than the rock lookout and shoreline.

Banana Island Coron relaxing

The Banana Island Coron Experience

During our last trip to Coron, we were able to visit Banana Island as part of an island hopping tour. Banana Island is part of a group of three islands south of Busuanga that made up our island-hopping tour from the town of Coron. It has more facilities for overnight stay. It also has huts and tables where we had our lunch for the day.

For those of you who have been to Bulog Dos Island, the water in front of the northern beach on Banana Island is just as clear but deeper than that of Bulog Dos. There’s a coral reef lying just off this beach for those who love to snorkel or dive.

There’s also a tree house, hammocks, and a store. You can go swimming and snorkel in the blue waters or just lie on the beach to have your perfect tan. You can also use the hammocks to relax or to have a quick nap.

Kayangan Lake Coron Palawan Cheche Feature

Pleasure And Pain Of Kayangan Lake Coron Palawan

Kayangan Lake, being as popular as it is, usually has a multitude of tourists and boats flanking the gateway to the lake and effectively block the view and ruining many great shots and pictures – but what could you expect? And, yes, this as the case when we arrived. Kayangan Lake has been plastered on plenty of travel websites and social media accounts; it’s understandable that the crowds have come.

The water is extremely clear and the colors are amazing. While it puts Coron on the map for most visitors, these beautiful islands hold many more amazing sights as well. Here is everything you need to know when planning a trip to Kayangan Lake.

There’s a little wooden walkway and platform to stash your things if you go for a swim. Don’t expect privacy or quiet, though, as the lagoon where boats unload passengers looks like a mall parking lot at noon. Gary brought his drone but sadly he decided not to use it because of the crowds, the limited time we had.

Feel The Heat At Maquinit Hot Spring Coron Palawan

If you are looking for a cool swimming hole then Maquinit Hot Spring is definitely not it. With the water from the hot spring hovering close to 40 degrees Celsius, it is a great place for cleansing.  Join Cheche as she visits Maquinit Hot Spring Coron.

Maybe some of you would find it a little bit strange wanting to swim at Maquinit Hot Spring when you already soaked yourself in sweat on an exhausting hike. Being a little cautious, I dipped my toes in first, checking the temperature of the water. It was overly warm but not unpleasantly hot so I slowly slide into the water, gliding my feet across the pebbly floor.  As I adjusted to the water temperature, I slowly dipped other parts of my body and before I knew it I was completely covered. Guess what… Surprisingly, I liked it. My skin tingled from the heat as I lay back with closed eyes and listened to the sounds of nature that surrounded me.

Whatever fatigue we gathered on our trek up Mt. Tapyas,  was washed away by the therapeutic water. It was easy to relax here. All I did was soak, look at the trees and the tourist, feeling the stones tickles my feet and the warm waters soak into my skin.
