We loved our 3 night stay in the Kimberly. The ladies at front desk were very helpful making Check-in a breeze. Our room was ready and clean and our request for an extra bed was attended to promptly… Well done to all the staff as this was over the fully booked and busy Easter Weekend. We had Buffet breakfast included with the room and it did not disappoint.. (arroz caldo, potato balls, plain/garlic rice, bistek tagalog, tocino, tawilis, pancake, french toast, omelette station, bread and salad station, sapin-sapin for dessert).
Our relatives Kids loved the pool and playground. This hotel is perfect for the family. No romantic vibe for couples, no view of Taal but there are lots of activities for the kids to enjoy. We only have praise for the staff and the hotel… Highly recommended.
Price Range – Budget
One of the few budget hotels to stay in Tagaytay! The View Park Hotel is clean, tidy, tranquil, with good service and comfortable rooms. Our stay was pleasant, with the hotel being close enough to the city, but far enough away to escape the busy traffic. Being situated along Tagaytay Road and just across from Picnic Grove you are guaranteed good scenery and views. We booked a double room including Breakfast. The room was very comfortable, good aircon, TV, coffee table,,, Also function halls and a swimming pool. Buffet breakfast enjoyable with good choices of food. True value for money at P1800 in March 2017.
Acuatico Beach Resort & Hotel
Laiya, San Juan, 4226 Batangas, Philippines
Price range – Moderate
Aquatico is the place to go if you wanted to do a weekend getaway near Manila. Its a slice of heaven when you just want to relax and spend quality time with loved ones. The place wasn’t crowded due to it’s size but it is popular so it is almost impossible to get a room during holiday times… be warned.
Some might find the prices a little expensive but it is totally worth it. If you go as a group you can book the Estancia A cottage to reduce to costs. When we were there we found the staff to be pleasant and the resort feels safe as it is gated and guarded at night.
The hotel has several pools and access to the beach. The view was stunning as you can see from the photos online. Dinner was buffet style with selections of western food and Filipino food. In addition to the nice view, we were extremely satisfied with the service they offered and their attentiveness.
While there I tried a massage in their onsite spa. The price was good and the therapist did a good job. We tried various water activities. Kayaking is free. Paddleboard is also free. We then tried jetski, parasailing and the flyboard.. Would we return? Yes!

How can you drive to Bali in less than two hours? By visiting the Balinese-inspired resort Cintai Corito’s Garden, Batangas. If you are wanting a relaxing place to unwind that is only 1.5 hours from Manila, then this is it. The place is very well kept and as soon as you arrive you can smell the fresh air. Great for families with plenty of trees and a few animals in cages for the children. You also get complimentary wireless internet, an outdoor pool, concierge and air-conditioned rooms. Many of the rooms here are actually geared towards the family.
“Cintai” is Indonesian for “love” and you definitely feel it radiating from this peaceful spot away from the stresses of the city. The only negative we had when we stayed there is we would have liked more food options in the restaurant. Since the resort does not have nearby outside restaurants, we had no choice but to eat at the resort….so to eat lunch, dinner and breakfast there was not too enticing since the menu is the same.
Sitio Looc Bagalangit, Mabini, Luzon
Price Range – Low
Aiyanar stands out for 2 reasons: Service and facilities. The staff bends over backwards to please you – your hard earned vacation money is well spent here. The best rooms are those overlooking the ocean and pool. There are two levels and we had a 2nd floor room giving us one of the most romantic sunrise views. This is primarily a dive resort but don’t let that stop you as there are plenty of other activities.
I had always wanted to learn to scuba dive but never got around to it, so I was a beginner when I arrived. Messrs. Sergio and Edwin were very good scuba diving instructors! They gave me a two-hour basic diving lesson. We spent 20 minutes in the pool then the rest of the time in the sea. I loved every moment of it.
If you are a diver you will be happy to know the dive/photo Facility has a large, climate controlled camera room, well-lighted, assigned bench space and your own fresh water rinse tanks. On top of this, your gear and cameras are carried for you down to the boats and back – placed carefully into rinse tanks so all you need to do is hang up your wetsuit and get a beer to watch the sunset. Nice! The highlight of our trip would be diving and jetskiing. Would definitely come back. If you would love to dive at an affordable price then this is the perfect weekend getaway near Manila for you.

I suggest, you travel early to avoid the traffic going up to Antipolo..

The ultimate list of must-see places in Tagaytay. There is so much more to Tagaytay than just Taal lake and volcano. Tips, reviews and much more
Patar beach is blessed with a fine, creamy colored sand. I found the coastline to be similar to Saud Beach in Pagudpud. We were both tired after helping our friends find accommodation...

Picnic Grove Tagaytay, one of the great picnic locations near Taal Lake that has always been very popular. Is it as good as it used to be? Read on to see... For a great view, ride the new Ferris wheel that is at the entrance of the Grove. After we paid the entrance fee, we stopped to buy some Strawberry Taho from one of the vendors. It was then we noticed there was no queue on the Ferris wheel so we gave it a try. Nice ride with great views…

Well, okay, officially the hike is rated as “easy” BUT… Because this is a semi-active volcano (you will see stream rising from rock formations during your hike) it can get a little warm of your trek during warm to hot days. On the day we went, it was HOT. At every rest-stop we passed there were hikers resting, covered in sweat. We did it the easy way (by horseback). Taking the Taal Volcano Tour by horseback is definitely worth it. Watch the video to see the difference.
